Dear Miss Emmalez Manners
June 2017
Dear Miss Emmalez Manners,
“Here’s a question for you … why in the world does Realcomp send my listings to certain third-party real estate websites, and without my permission? I may not agree with the Internet advertising policies of those companies, and may not want my listings to appear on their websites! Shouldn’t I be able to decide which real estate portals get my advertising business?”
Signed, Wondering Why from Wixom
Dear Wondering Why,
First of all, Realcomp NEVER sends listing content to third-party real estate websites or portals WITHOUT the permission of the Designated REALTOR® (DR)/Responsible Broker of each real estate office.
|
|
The DR/Responsible Broker of every office is the authorized party to make all Listing Distribution decisions for the listing inventory of the office.
Secondly, your Designated REALTOR® (DR)/Responsible Broker can review or change their Listing Distribution settings at any time through Realcomp’s corporate website. Once logged into the site (Realcomp.MoveInMichigan.com) with their Realcomp login ID and password, the Broker can modify their syndication settings through the following menu options: 1. Links > 2. DR/Broker Links > 3. Listing Distribution (shown at the left).
Realcomp distributes/syndicates listings on behalf of our Designated REALTORS® to the top 3rd party real estate portals.
|
By default, NONE of these sites are auto-selected for Listing Distribution. Brokers must manually OPT IN to each one and then save their settings to have their listings included in Realcomp Listing Distribution data feeds for these sites.
If your DR/Responsible Broker decides that a real estate portal’s policies do not align with her/his own, she/he can modify their Listing Distribution settings at any time. Additionally, Realcomp sends reminder e-mails to DRs/Responsible Brokers every six (6) months as a courtesy to remind them about their options for managing their Listing Syndication settings.
Please talk with your Responsible Broker to learn more about the Listing Distribution settings she/he has chosen for your office.
“Dear EmmaLez” is an unconventional approach for increasing user awareness of Realcomp’s MLS Rules, Regulations, and Policies, sharing customer complaints, tackling non-compliance issues, and offering steps for resolution. As you have suggestions related to these topics, we want to hear them. Please email us at support@realcomp.com
