Today, Realcomp switched most of our websites over from HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol) to HTTPS (hypertext transfer protocol secure) technology. This upgrade was performed in order to improve the security of all data being transmitted through these websites and those of our product partners. If you happen to reference an old HTTP URL, it should now automatically redirect to an HTTPS version.
Now that this work is completed, if you are not able to successfully login to an application (i.e. RCO3), please be sure to clear your temp files and cookies through your web browser (i.e. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, Safari, etc.). Here is a link to a website that includes instructions for doing this: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-delete-cookies-in-chrome-firefox-safari-and-ie/2/. If after doing so, you are not able to login through the Chrome browser, please try an alternative browser. If after clearing your temp files and cookies you are still unable to login successfully, please contact Realcomp for support at support@realcomp.com or via phone at (866) 553-3430.
Thank you.
More About HTTP and HTTPS: HTTP is a protocol that allows communication between different systems. Most commonly, it is used for transferring data from a web server to a web browser to view web pages. Although, HTTP was the standard at one time. Data being sent via this protocol is not encrypted. So, it is easily intercepted by third parties. Changing over to HTTPS means switching to a secure protocol, one that uses encryption. Encryption involves the use of an SSL certificate (“SSL” stands for secure sockets layer), and creates a secure connection between the web server and web browser.
