The “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order in Michigan is now in effect through the end of the month. Per Governor Whitmer’s extension of the order (until April 30). The order directs everyone who is not an essential worker to remain home unless they need to leave for something to benefit the health and safety of themselves or their families. Realcomp continues to work on solutions to help our subscribers to schedule Virtual Tours and Open Houses.
How to facilitate a Virtual Open House or Showing: Due to the current executive order, agents need to work with the seller to coordinate the Virtual Event. Sellers set up a meeting through Zoom, Facebook Live, or online meeting planner of their choice. During the Virtual Open House event, sellers perform a virtual tour of their home using their iPhone, smart phone or tablet, showing property features, and answering questions. Ideally, buyers as well as the listing and selling agents participate in the virtual event also through the meeting/event URL. Participants can interact and ask questions throughout the event.
Realcomp has implemented a Virtual Open House scheduling option, you can now schedule a live Virtual Open House event on your listing for a specific date and time through Realcomp’s Open House module to promote the meeting/event URL. Realcomp will also begin sharing the Virtual Open House data with our 3rd Party and IDX vendors so consumers visiting related websites can access the Virtual Open Houses as well.
How to Add Virtual Open Houses
- Choose MyRCO>>MyListings>>MyActiveListings
- Click the MLS number of your listing
- Choose Edit>>Manage Open House
- Enter the Virtual Open House date, start time, end time, meeting/event URL, and event description.
- When finished entering details, click Submit Listing

How to Communicate that Virtual Showings are Available on Your Listings:
To promote the availability of your Virtual Showing, please include this in the beginning of the public remarks section of your listing. An example of this is: ”Virtual Showings Are Available – Call to Request”.
