Scam Alert: Vacant Land Listing Fraud

We have received multiple reports regarding a recurring scam involving vacant land listings.

In these cases, the alleged “owner” claims to be out of state and cannot meet the listing agent in person. They then send “copies” of documents that turn out to be fraudulent.

The only reliable method REALTORS have found to verify ownership is by directly contacting the actual property owners and confirming that they are not, in fact, selling.

We strongly advise you to exercise caution when dealing with such calls or potential clients. Always conduct thorough due diligence to confirm property ownership before listing. Stay vigilant!
